As we get older, our toys get more complicated. For this assignment, let's go back to simpler times, before we started worrying about cars, computers, and cameras. This is the thread for bright and colourful playthings, baubles, puzzles, and games.
This being Shuttertalk, dog toys are welcome, too.
Now this assignment, I think I can handle. I can't move a few meters without tripping on a toy 'round here!!
Now this is my kind of assignment!

Me too. The dog takes them from her box as fast as I put them in.

I have an advantage: I know what the assignments are ahead of time.
When I was 4-14ish, I played with Lego all the time. (Now I work in a warehouse, it's habit-forming.) I'd build all sorts of things, could make towers taller than I am, and worked through a lot of the technical sets as well. But, it was also a simple toy. I used to take these little blocks, which were originally supposed to be public-address horns, and make them into small spaceships. I'd build dozens of these, mixing different colours to make little fleets, and fly them around the living room. These are two that I've kept with me for the last two decades.
(Inspired by the bracketing thread, this is a blend of two images for
focus-bracketing. It was also taken with my new macro lens, which is my current favourite toy.)
Here are a couple I snapped the other day that fit into this assignment.

Matt,
great idea you an assignment..........should bring out the inner child
Toad great shot, love the pp it all fits together well. I can see the kids looking up and wishing for one!
Muzza, the first is excellent. It could also work in the focus assignment.
...but we all know what the best toy is....
... Daddy!!
You wouldn't be quietly making an announcement here would you Julian?

Hahha no... that was my cousin who just recently had a baby girl...

I can't let this thread go any longer without having a photo of a yellow truck in it.
But to be honest, I liked this set better:
And who hasn't played with one of these?

Psssst - I'd have chosen that one as winner if I'd been curator of last week's salon over in the other place. I love it - very cute.

That's one of the other shots, but Big B and Mp said the same as you, so ta very much.
I wanted something on the lines of looking up at a person or people looking down from a great height, Millennium wheel as an example. But didn't have time to set that up.
But everyone has a different mindset. I accept that. ps I won the mouse in a kite competition.

great setup NT fun shot. the toys seem to fit the set well!
Thanks. Glad you like it.

My new toy is my new flash...

Neat shot, and congrats on the new flash. They're a lot of fun. You'll need to go back to your original thread and tell us what you decided on.
