Maybe we should consider renting equipment long term instead... so we can always have the latest technology

Quote:I.S. on a short lens, once again, no thanks. This dog isnt conned by sweeties. (Biscuits maybe, but not sweets).
Can't agree there -IS rocks- it is more imporant on a long lens - true - but it can make the differnce between getting the shot and not getting it in low light or with low ISO speeds and fast action. Once you have used it, you realize the difference. I have hand held shots with my A2 that are tack sharp at (shudder) 1/4 of a second. It sure beats carrying a tripod everywhere (which I do with my F100).

Hmmm, arguing again huh?
Look at the difference in price between an I.S. and a non I.S. lens. You could buy two tripes with that!
I.S. in the body is a bit of a different matter, that's why I'm curious about the Minolta DSLR.
Mind you, camera shake isnt an issue to this dog, no. Slavvering on the viewfinder is much more of a problem.
So there.

What's a tripe?
Forget it...I just figured it out. Some places and times aren't convenient for tripods though - yes?

Short lens or not, if money was no object, I'd take IS any day over non IS. Heheh.. but I guess when is money never a concern?

im interested i nthe in body IS ..
id think that that would make the sensor and all less durable .. buecause your have to fit in all this extra stuff inthe confined space to make IS possible ..
unless the body is super chuky..
