Just playing around with some new actions I got, but wondering if these look a bit over cooked, what do you think?
Sorry, same old boring subject Tongue
P.S do they look dark on your monitor?

Thanks a bunch
What do you want to achieve with this action?

The colors look very nice to me... very vivid... I like them... but I see the dark too dark, gives a nice contrast but I think I am missing detail in his eyes specially...

However I can't say much about colors since my monitor is not calibrated Sad .... Sorry... Sad
hi

i agree with irma the blacks are a bit too black, too strong

christian
On my monitor the colors look stong and vivid, the whites and skin tones however look a little washed out. It is calibrated.

The subject can never be boring when it's a cute kid Smile
The only thing I noticed is #1 was a bit out of focus. Otherwise fine. Btw, what is the action?

Hi Schell, I take it you used your 50mm prime for these shots? The only reason I ask is that mine tends to do the same and when I check around the neutral (gray) areas of a picture in PS I find it is down on "red". This tends to happen more in low light.
The colours are very saturated, which is nice. Yeah, what actions are they?

Nice to see your bub again! Big Grin
Um, it was a velvia action. I also upped the contrast and sharpness in-camera which is probably why it is too contrasty and the detail in the extremes is hazy.

Yes, I was using my 50mm, and the light was pretty low (just around dusk and overcast in a usually shady spot)

This is how it looked without any processing except lightening up a tad

Definite improvement over the original.
Haha, ain't it the way!! Spend all this time 'making them better' only to go to far the other way so it looks crap! But still, I have been trying to get better pictures straight off the camera, so that is a good thing. now I just gotta do something about my PS addiction!! Big Grin Big Grin
hmmm, your fix is definitely a great improvement over the original.
other that that, I think all shuttertalkers should calibrate their screens to the same parameters, so that we can talk colors!! :-))

My screen is slightly on the red side, as far as I know from recent printing,
and even on it the skin tones look pale and bluish - which is a real shame with these great shots!
have you printed any of them?

uli
No I haven't printed. someone else told me they looked bluish but to me they look more greyish
I've been fiddling with my monitor, but it seems like i still don't have it right.
