Another kick at the graphic novel concept. Please tell me if I'm totally on the wrong track here...

Composite of 16 images...
These are great!
My first impression...
When I clicked to see the picture I was expecting to see the silhouette of the man immediately....
What caught my eye was the lantern, I was not disappointed, but a little puzzled... I thought there should be a silhouette somewhere, it took me a little research to find it...

Note...
few hours later...

I wrote my comment without seeing the whole picture... The lantern was in the middle of the picture and the taxi cropped... That's why I couldn't understand it well...
I am sorry I don't know what happened..
Very good Toad - love the Taxi.
That's cool. Have you come up with a storyline? I'd love to see all this work go into a real comic!
That's amazing. First impression: I love the taxi and the man standing near it.

The image is so rich, and so dense, but without being cluttered or losing its simplicity. Everywhere I look, there's something to look at. I'm going to have to come back to this when I have more time to fall into it.
I love it. I d/l it earlier this morning and I've been away pondering over it.

I love the atmosphere it generates - it reminds me of the sort of setting you might find in a scene from an old classic movie. I haven't decided whether to expect Gene Kelly to come prancing and dancing along the street or maybe Humphrey Bogart or James Cagney might come out of the building and some gangster poke a gun from the back of the cab and Bang! - one of them bites the dust. :o

The abiding thought running through my mind is the classic line from Cagney just before the gasometer blew up .... "Hey ma, look at me! I'm on top of the world" Big Grin

Seriously very nice work, Toad.

This is just totatally awesome. I love the whole concept. A lot of computer graphics people strive to turn their computer art into realistic looking scenes, but you're going the opposite way. Wow!

I think the people add a nice touch.. and I love the little details you've worked on such as shadows and lighting ...
Huh, This one looks like a scene from the Batman cartoon! Cool stuff... Cool
Much thanks people. I am as proud of this as almost anything I've done. I'm really happy that I have manged to capture a scene that didn't really exist anywhere except in my head. What I worried about was that I would not be able to reproduce the atmosphere that I envisioned (the component shots were all daylight shots) - but I'm pretty happy with how that turned out too...

I'm hoping to parlay this concept into a more significant project - but its still all very conceptual at the moment - you'll see it as it unfolds (if it does).
I love this one, the other one was good IMO , but this one is GREAT..... The story can go in so many different directions . Wink

Wow Toadster. You've really outdone yourself here. Most excellent work.Smile
I only got part of the picture last night, and I was wondering where the man was by the taxi (Matthews post) but now I've got it all I think. Stunning.
Wonderful, really good stuff. How long does this take to do?

This one took about 8 or 9 hours - maybe a bit more. Thanks people.
Excellent Toad.......... I really like the work you doing with the graphic look!! I even recognize a character from one of your other works....Big Grin the whole scene works well from the guy at the taxi to the figures in the window and door way.........there's a story!
