Good product shots Paul. They are as good as it comes.

I agree, I think they are fantastic! did you work in a tent? what's the surface? I like the subtle reflections.

Hey these are really cool. I can't fault #1 and #3.. my only critique would be #2, where I think the words should be given more even lighting so it can be read easily.
Thanx guys
Wulinka:
Setup used is paper as background, to get a reflection i use a piece of glass on the paper. Lighting setup is with 3 softboxes one left (Key) one above metered one stop lower then the key. and one right also ,metered one stop lower then the Key. Both key and the right softbox where angled slighty behind the subject aswell to get bg evenly lit. This so i dont have to do much in post. pp work is wb,resize, curves, usm.
Jules: I agree the light seems a bit flat on the coke bottle.
Here is another shot , with a similar setup, i used reflectors from the front and from the right to get the reflections i wanted (softbox above and from the left)

And here is a diffrent version of the Boss perfume.

G'day Paul, great shots all of them but #1 would have to be my pick. (where's the fish)
I agree with ST on the coke shot which is why I like the second one of these better but its needs the cold look!
Now this is just my uneducated opinion but in #2 and #3 you either need more or less reflection. The first coke shot and the first boss shot I want to see all the reflection. I find myself wanting to look down only to find its cropped. The second boss shot with less reflection works much better.
cheers
Thnx Russt!
Yes i will have to redo the coke bottle, a mix between the two version is what im gonna aim for.
I agree the reflections from both the coke bottle and the boss bottle is cut off to harshly, either full or nothing is preferable.
As for the fish, well i would have loved a salmon, but didnt have one @ home, guess its of to do some fishing... LOL
Thnx for your constructive critique and comments.

I like your pictures a lot Paul... The first one is great... I used to visit a recipe book online, and they present most their dishes in this way... It looks so clean... I like it !!
About the others, I have to say that I don't know much about light in this sort of photography, but your pictures look very nice to me... I like a lot the one with yellow background, however... if the idea is to give a fresh feeling would be nicer to use a cold color... some fresh green, blue or gray even... since I have the feeling here, that the background contradicts a bit with the idea of freshness the droples give...
The coke looks great... I agree with Russ... I am looking for the complete reflection... but I think that happens to me, because I take many landscape pictures and I always try to look for the complete reflection... Perhaps for commercial purposes as it is would fit nicely...
Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences with the lighting... I have a light with a white umbrella and two external flashes, I tried something time ago also with fruit, but I think they are wrong, your pictures are very inspiring...
Thanks a lot for sharing...
Thnx Irma. I agree the fresh feeling might be a bit contradicted with the yellow bg, maybe its the droplets that should go? Its female perfum and i like the warmth and the contrast between the red and yellow. (to be honest i really didnt think a whole lot about it, i just wanted to try a yellow bg lol )
Thanx for reviewing them, its much appreciated with advice/thoughts like yours Irma.
Glad you enjoyed them.

Hey I like your 2nd coke shot better...

Thanx Jules, still i think it looks a little plastic, a combination between the two is what i would like. Oh well the coke is mighty tasty in glass bottle :-)
Thnx.
