Well folx I can't post any zoo photos from today yet. As I was using borrowed camera bodies that are only fairly new my raw conversion software has to be updated!

Bah humbug! Tongue
awww Sad You poor thing Jamie.
The DPP v2.1 update probably takes at least 3 minutes to donwload, maybe 1/2 hour if you don't have broadband. Tongue

Good to catch up with you guys today. Smile
I really need an early night tonight though, so I've only had a quick glance through my shots so far.
And seeing as I *can* do RAW conversions Tongue, below are a couple of shots that initially jumped out at me when I was flicking through them after I got home.

A good day guys - I am working on mine now. That is a very good likeness Kombi Smile

Beautiful post processing as usual - looks like you got some good ones in that last half hour when we all left you!

Will post tomorrow.

Cheers,

Chris
Nice pictures and processing SmileSmile

I took some pics today too... haha Smile studying in the library, then go out for a 10 minute break with my camera - which ends up being 40 minutes ! oops! hahah

Looks like fun Big Grin
Great looking images Adrian. Love the lion. Can't wait to see the rest from Jamie and Chris.
Bet you guys had a blast, love the Lion. Waiting for the rest of you!
Ok - here are a few of mine (no lion as Jamie and I couldn't see the lion earlier in the day).

Some great shots already.......can't wait to see more!

Kombi, really like the lion with that chimp a very close second.

Chris, standing round is a stand out........I would love to see more of the mirror.......still great shot!!!

I am not sure about that last shot..........Big Grin Tongue
Russt - it is actually a viewing window rather than a mirror (people can look out at the animals). To be honest I didn't notice the reflection until after the shot and could not get round any further Sad

LOL - that last one is a classic isn't it (very candid - they had no idea I was even there at that point).
Chris I thought that might have been the case.........gotta love oranotangs (right turn clyde)
Now that was a classic movie Smile
Great shots Chris. Even the last two animals.Big Grin
Great shots Adrian, love your work. Spent a few hours at Perth Zoo last Christmas, I have one of the Meerkat that is almost identical. Cool
Hey I was lucky, I managed to score two "hey look at my monkey photos" jokes in one day Wink

I still haven't had the chance to do anything about my raw conversion problem. I'm currently downloading updates for Photoshop as I can't install DPP (Don't keep all your eggs in one basket (Camera cds in laptop bag in case I needed them when travelling)).
Great shots Chris... except for the two animals at the end. I thought the Perth zoo tried to maintain a certain standard about the animals they keep? Big Grin
The oranotangs look very cool though.

Thanks for all the comments. Big Grin
Here are a few more you guys might be interested in...

1. A quick glance at a rare and reclusive animal. I can't identify the species, but know it only as "Jamie". Shot with Chris' 5D and Jamie's Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 + 2x tele... 318mm, f/5.6, 1600 ISO, 1/60th sec (hence the camera shake).

2. Me taking some test shots of Chris with his 5D and my Sigma 28mm f/1.8. shot at 28mm, f/2.0, 1600 ISO, 1/1600th sec

3. I couldn't resist putting in another one of the Black-faced Rock Wallaby, it was really playing up for the camera. In hindsight I should've stopped down slightly to get a touch more DOF. 30D, 135mm, f/2.0, 500 ISO, 1/500th sec.

4. A Cheetah checking me out. This really reminds me of one of my cats, Danni. 30D, 135mm, f/2.0, 400 ISO, 1/200th sec.

5. A pair of old Dingos taking things easy. 30D, 135mm f/2.0, 800 ISO, 1/640th sec.

6. A Meerkat guarding its home. 30D, 135mm, f/2.0, 400 ISO, 1/250th sec.

7. After the zoo closed, I wandered down to the South Perth foreshore and grabbed this shot of the city. 30D with EF-S 17-85 IS, 20mm, 640 ISO, f/6.3, 1/60th sec.
Wow and a beautiful city to boot! Well done.

Its no wonder you had camera shake pointing it at me Tongue
Adrian - the Cheetah and the City shots are stunning.

We will have to have another outing some time. Come on Jamie - let's see some shots Smile
Hey some wonderful and awesome shots people... I must say that they have some funny looking animals holding black things and white lenses... Smile

Looks like you all had a blast... still waiting for Jamie's photos! Big Grin

Next time... we should do something a bit more central. How about Ayers Rock? Big Grin

Great shots everyone.
