This was taken in Morecambe Bay, England. I don't know how long it has been there, but definitely less than 1 year.
The tide was out but it comes and goes very quick.

Good shot but quite frightening when you think about what can happen! Is that approximately the same location where the cocklers were drowned?
Pol
Yeah, Same bay but I think further to the left. There are guided walks across from Morecambe to Grange over sands. Too far for me to walk, but we were watching a party go across of obout 40/50 people and 1 dog.
With binoculars of course.
They are quite away from shore /safety.
Aargh you're gonna kill me, They are not straight.

Thanks for those. The incident with the cocklers sticks in the mind because of the speed of the tide and the horror that so many people could be trapped so quickly. Your pictures show what it's really like out there and there's no way I'd ever do that walk - even with the regular guides!
The shot of the 4x4 is intriguing. I'd like to know who owned it and how, or if, they escaped. maybe I'll search the 'Morecambe Visitor' archives and see if I can find any reference to it, though I suspect it may be a fairly regular occurence.
BTW - I'm not one of those 'horizon' freaks, especially when it's presented as a snapshot.
Pol
haha... that first shot is a classic NT73! Love it!

There was allsorts of stuff over the weekend. Examples... two elderly biplanes (probably going to a display somewhere), a hang glider that landed on the beach and took off again immediately, a couple of guys on motor bikes really letting them rip, various buggies kite powered and motorised, model aircraft.
Every time I got my camera out of the case and set up they were too far away.

Wow - what a sad sight. Well captured though.
The fist picture looks really scary NT... but very interesting ...

Looks like someone has had a tin/can opener to the roof.
