The monark ( sp ) butterflys were all around were i was walking yesterday . The shots that i wanted didnt happen so i thought i would try my hand at butterflys . Please tell me what you think , and how i could make them better , There is a little bit of PP on these but nothing major .

#2 is a lovely setting. Try getting closer Shawn. I know they fly off if you are too near, but patience can be rewarded.

I like the setting in #2 as NT said but agree the subject is a little lost

the bokeh is good in #1 but the shot is a little soft.......and I am not sure about the composition. Looked at the exif data I might suggest you try for a little faster shutter speed at 300mm

I like #2. The butterfly is subtle. Very nice.

I would suggest for #1 a crop to be closer to the butterfly...

#2 is lovely... the butterfly is a nice motif in that field of flowers...

I like #2 aswell, i like the dof and colors. #1 is a little to soft for my taste.

I liked #2 also but wasnt sure it " worked " . the shot was what i was looking for ( if i am making any sence ) .
I guess like Russt said about the shutter speed in # 1 prob would make a difference .
