Hello guys/gals i had the chance to shoot another wedding for a friend so i thought that i would " give it a go " . This wedding was nothing like the last one , i really had fun and i wasnt nervouse at all . LOL . There was around 30 people there and all of them were great to me so that was a bonus. The only thing was it was at noon and i had a hard time with the harsh light . But i did the best i could with what i had . They wanted some in B/W , i wanted to see what yall thought about my conversions.

Here is The Kiss

I know yall dont like color selection but i thought i would try it on this one ( and i know its sepia i wanted to see what they thougth about sepia instead of B/W )

#1 I like the moment you capture and the way his arm frames the picture at the bottom... the moment you captured is really sweet... I would work a bit with the shadow in his face... Maybe with a sellection and lighten it a bit? While I like the face of the lady in the background... I find the face of the tall man behind a bit distracting... I would clone it out... In other case... I would have suggested a fading frame in the whole picture to fade that face ... but as I said I like the way the picture is framed at the bottom...

#2 I love the sepia conversion... beautifully done... and the sellective color works splendid here... the yellow of the flowers match nicely the sepia tone you have and the spot of color is in good position... really love the picture... funny moment you captured in this picture... I am sure she will remembered what she was looking at the floor, and your picture will make her smile... Smile The only thing here is that you cut off her shoe... Sad
Love these kind of pictures... Smile

#3 I like a lot the moment and the treatment as well... but in this case I would suggest a tighter crop or a fading frame or vignette... To me the background looks a bit distracting... specially the bright spot at the left...

Great job with all your treatments Shawn
I love the treatment of these!
Thanks Irma and Adam.

I agree with all that you said Irma, and thanks for the extencive ( sp ) critique. The Bride and Groom love the pictures and are supposed to come over and tell me what they want done soon ( show me the money LOL ) .

Good shooting Shawn. I think the yellow flowers compliment the sepia image. well done.
Well done, Drake - your comfort level is obvious in these shots. I really like the capture in #3 - but would agree with a tighter crop. The effect in #2 is very good.
Thanks Peto and Toad ,
I havent cropped any of these shots yet i wanted to see what the B and G are going to order , but i do see what yall are sayin about the crop.

Thanks again ........... SHawn
Hi Shawn, these look great, it sounds like you were much more comfortable than the last time you did a wedding- and the photos reflect that, well done!

I Love #1 and #3, but I think her pose isn't very flattering in #2

Thanks for sharing!
You have to make them all pretty Drake, and then they will buy them all.Smile
I like #3 because she looks a million dollars in that one. Can't see what she sees in him though.Big Grin
Thanks Schell and NT73 ,

Schell i have to say that i was a lot more relaxed with this wedding and my camera. I had a great time . Although i think i should have taken a few more with just them . Live and learn Wink. They are very happy with the pictures so i am happy .

Can i ask why you dont think # 2 is flattering ? is it because you cant see her face ? ( for future ref. Big Grin )

NT she is a very pretty girl , and maybe love is just blind LOL Big Grin. They have been together for a long time , sence high school , .

hmm, good question Shawn, I'm not quite sure! I think she just looks a bit awkward- plenty of other people like it, so its probably just not my cup of tea more than anything.
Hi Shawn - so much better than the first one. You can really tell that you were more comfortable here. I like your processing in all of them - as for number two - perhaps a lower angle would help it look better (feels like she is about to topple over).

Well done.
Nice post work on these, makes them stand out. Just a little extra work such as this came make a photo shine Smile
Great work Shawn.

One of the most difficult parts of wedding photography is capturing those unplanned and unrehearsed moments. You did that very nicely with #3.

My only comment with #2 is that the focus is the bride smelling the rose, yet you chose to color the bouquet, which takes takes away from what she is doing. My thoughts would be to lower the color opacity of the bouquet and look at adding some colour to the one she is smelling. May or may not work. Selective colouring is very tricky and must be done so that it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. This may be the wrong picture for that.

In all, GREAT job man!
Thanks WS , JB , and Jerry ( and Schell again ) ,

I see what you are sayin WS , i think that maybe the " prob " with #2 . It doesnt look very natural . And to be honest it was " posed " .And a lower perspective prob would have helped . I ll have to keep that in mind the next time .

Jerry ,
I agree with what you are saying , the flower that she is smelling is yellow , but a different yellow . I was going to do all the roses yellow but it didnt work . I think i might try " toning " the yellow down some and see if that helps . Thanks for the kind words .

JB , i appreciate your comments as i am working hard on my conversions , Thanks

Thanks YAll ......... Shawn
congrats on a good job there BD........ nice to hear you were more relaxed this time Big Grin
Thanks Russt ...

I didnt realize how much my nerves ( sp ) showed up in the first wedding i did. But i feel so much better with a camera in my hand now .

Wow!!
In the second picture you used septia but the flowers are still colored is that done with the PS? Or something special you do with the camera? I would really like learning how to do that. I find myself when Im taking pictures of the kids using the septia.
Thanks Teri ,

The color selection is all done in photoshop . I am sure there is a better way to do it than i do it.

thanks again ...... Shawn
