Is it Sunset or Sunrise? Whichever it is nice. For me,
maybe a bit too much foreground foliage.

Thanks for your comment NT, I do agree that the shot is to busy in the foreground. This is one of the fundamental mistakes I tend to make when setting up a shot. I look at the subject and its placement and tend not to look at all the elements in the frame. In this case I wanted the foliage in the foreground to add some interest but it should not have been above the horizon for a start.
Anyway I did like the colour of the âsunsetâ

The ability to see what is in the frame before taking the shot is what separates the masters from the pupils I think.
Don't be offended as mine are a lot worse. I only tend to show the better ones. But it is similar to when I was a musician. If you stop learning you stagnate.

Nice sunset Russ, the calm water and the reflections are great, but the grass is a bit overpowering...can it be removed in photoshop or similar?
Some advice I was given when I started photography last year was "look at the viewfinder, not through it"
I often get caught up in the moment and forget to check the corners of the viewfinder and there is always a garbage bin or person or car that spoils the shot

I think your picture is great Russ... I am really envious of you having this scenes at this time of the year. The colors are perfect and your composition with the boats as well.
About the foreground, I agree, but I also think that you always have the resource of cloning out what you don't need. I would do it with the highest grass you have at the right.

Irma, I think I will have ago a cloning that out, should have done it first.........I was looking at the comp on the boats and sun and wanted some grass in the foreground but that highest one is just too much. :|

Russt Wrote:All kinds really. Started when Lonnie Donegan was about and went through R&R, R&B, C&W, General Pop Stuff. Different bands until about the 80/90s. Made a living from it. Don't think you will have heard of many of my bands if any. Mainly sort of 2nd division cabaret.Quote:Don't be offended as mine are a lot worsecritique is always welcome NT :/
