Photographs taken against the light can create powerful and simple forms, or they can be playful and whimsical. Like everything else in photography, the only limit is your own imagination and creativity. For this assignment, please try something new and see what you can create.

I am working with silhouettes already for one or two weeks and I found it very interesting. Here are two tries, I think they are my best till now...

This was taken in the sunset of the same day.

I love silhouettes - they reveal more than they conceal, and what little that you see seems full of meaning.

These are all really great shots, and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Here's one that's reaching a bit: the weather's been overcast and generally unhelpful, so I needed to take what I could get.



It's a photo of an old photo of mine, which has been waiting a long time for a spot on a wall. It caught my eye because a glass vase was bending the light going across it, and it's as close as I've come to getting a shot for this assignment.

These are all great shots. I have to admit that my own efforts were discouraging, and given my recent shortage of shooting opportunities, I thought I might miss this one entirely. Fortunately I had a great sunset on Friday (Thursday?) that let me get a few in.

This is a picture I would love to take myself... I hope one day I have the chance to do it... I love those windmills.

Here is one picture I took last year with the idea of working with silhouettes. As I took a series with different focal points. I worked today with two pictures and I blended them to get sharp the leaves and the window... I worked a bit with curves to give light to the sky...
