You called.
Did you want me to put the kettle on?
Shall we all have tea?

I'm around, dropping in and having a look most days ..... still plodding along with the iffy PC but I'm hoping the new one will be up and running within the next week or two.

Poor lass

Polly isn't my real name actually, but it is a genuine nickname in real life. 'Pol' is short for Polonius and I call my husband 'Gert' short for Gertrude. It stems from the time he accused me, and all other "arty types" as "waffling" and he quoted Hamlet, saying "more matter with less art, please" .. as Gertrude said to Polonius (the waffler) in the play.
I replied "but Art Matters, Gertrude" .. and thereafter the nicknames kinda stuck with us.

How splendid to have the right line for a rejoiner at hand like that. Makes me feel rather lowbrow...

There's no need to feel lowbrow! One of our sons was studying Hamlet for an exam at that time and I was helping him out with readings. 'Gert' (aka my husband) used to get fed up with hearing it.
We were having a bit of a spat about something at the time and I wouldn't let him get a word in, as usual - hence the dig about me waffling
