Has anyone used this lens? Tamron AF 75-300mm 75-300 mm LD Macro Lens 4 Canon

Saw it for sale for $149.00, so assume I might be throwing $ away, but thought I would check first.

Am looking for a budget long shot lens for kids sports.

Mine seems OK but I have nothing to compare it with, save the nifty fifty and others web shots.

Spoke too soon. If I go to any telephoto length and stop down a bit the camera freezes 'Error 99'
E-mailed Tamron and they said it sounds like a focus diaphragm fault? Anyhow it has been returned under warranty. 2 days to go.

Edit 03/08/07 Returned this morning fixed, cleaned and checked. Free under original warranty and now a 6 month warranty on the repair.. Whooo
