Hey! How is everybody?

I got my first digital camera in November 2005 (just a basic Olympus point & shoot), & my interest in photography has grown since then.
I finally had the money to buy myself a good camera last week, a Nikon D40x.
I'm considering maybe a photography course, & perhaps asking a photographer I know if I can sit in & view some of his photo shoots. I'm also looking at joining the Newcastle camera club.

I took my camera out for it's first proper test run today, at a small family lunch for my grandfather's birthday, only snapped a few proper shots though, as I was mostly just playing around with settings to get a better knowledge of all the different features & how they affect a shot.
Welcome! Happy Photographing!

Apart from reading the manual, I think that "playing" with your camera (as you've been doing) is a great way to learn how to use it Big Grin
