With the prevalence of digital modelling technology in music, it's now possible for a guitarist to buy a box that will give them access to a wide variety of sounds that previously one had to spend thousands to own.

Purists and manufacturers always argue that they don't come close to the real thing but is there really that much of a difference? How close does digital modelling come to the real thing? Should I stop saving up for that tube amp?
The more your ear for colour develops, (not a mis-print), the more you get to dislike acoustic modelling.
