I've been wanting to have a go at contrast masking since i saw Zig's post about it, so I thought your cathedral image from the architecture assignment looked like a good candidate. (I'm posting it here so I don't take the assignment off track).

As you can see it brought out a bit more detail in the shadows, without really changing the image that much. I just duplicated the layer, inverted the copy, set blending mode to overlay, transparency to 70%, and adjusted levels slightly.

What do you think?

I like your try a lot....

What I did in this one was to light up the building working with a mask I did of the green channel. But I will try this technique. It seems that you get better results... Smile
