I found yesterday that this plant had two different flowers. I don't know the name of the plant but it looks beautiful. At the beginning was dying, but then I learned that it needed a lot of water so now it is much better. Anyway, I took some pictures yesterday with natural light and umbrella to diffuse the light a bit.

I tried this kind of bw treatment because I have my flowers sharp, and the curves of the petals and core made me think that it might look good in a soft bw treatment.










My question also here would be whether I could call this high key bw?

Good job Irma, as usual. I think you should try putting a simple, 5-pixel black border around them. Just because they're so soft, I think they sort of fade into the background, especially on this site. A border might just help them stand out a bit more.

I also like the textures in this series and my favorite composition is #1.

A few plants have very insignificant flowers but very colourful leaves/bracts, which look like flowers at first glance. Poinsetta is one example. I cant think of the name of the ne we saw in the Maldives, but it has red bracts and small white flowers.

Having said all that your photo looks very pretty.

Irma, I like these photos a great deal. I like the strong composition, but in particular I love the soft buttery feel to these photos and the lovely soft lighting, which gives the photo very pleasant 3-D feel to it. I have no suggestions to make here. I like the photos as they are. DP.
