Full Version: Working with textures

I worked in these three different subject with textures. Most of the times my pictures become a bit dark, so I try to keep detail without losing hard contrast.

Yes, it is a picture of Lucky.
Maybe the right title would be "German cat in Italy"... Wink
I love the second one, the textures are perfect to emphasize its character!

The addition of the cat does give the third piece a focal point - good suggestion. MY fav is #1 - I really like the texture and tones.
I agree with Toad -- #1 is my favourite.
I'm with uli I like #2... def my fav.

In #1 I used three different textures. I thought at the beginning it looked too crowded and heavy but I think the bright leaves and colors stand out well.

#2 is a new post processing I am working on with few filters to give an HDR apparience. I find it quite interesting, and I want to give it a try with some other subjects, like tools or even an old shoe. The treatment enhance nicely the details. I wish I had the wood a bit more in focus to get finer detail there. Unfortunately I took my picture with the macro and my DOF was too shallow.
