These are really nice.
I like the colors, the dark background in the first one makes them stand out really well.
The second one looks like you used a soft focus or something?

Hello,
Nice irises. They are a very good subject for photography. The use of flash or some other strong front lighting helped you isolate the flower from the surroundings and simplified the images. You could improve the isolation by cloning out the remaining surroundings and perhaps crop tighter. I would also experiment with lighting. Front lighting produces more flat-looking imageswith little texture and no sense of 3-dimensionality. Irises look nice if you can get some backlighting going, making the flowers look translucent - a nice effect, I think. Some amount of side-lighting would give photo more textured, 3-D effect. I would consider 2 part side-lighting 1 part front lighting as a start.
You use tripod, yeat your photos do not appear very sharp. I did not check why that is. The irises may be out of focus or you may not have actualy used a tripod or the problem may be from cropping and blowing up the details of the photo. Some problems may also occur during downsizing of the photo for posting. DP.
