After two months I still hadn't done a proper night shoot with the new camera.
One thing or another would ruin my plans and it was getting very frustrating.

Everything came together recently and I decided to hit one of my favorite local attractions to get my feet wet using a DSLR at night.
Hemisfair Park is in downtown San Antonio, and is a very pretty and target-rich place to shoot, day or night.

This is one of many restored historic buildings:

Last time I saw this, there was shrubbery instead of flowers--the pot is on it's side on purpose to simulate an overturned plant:

As usual, I shot some fountain action:

In front of a Federal Building adjacent to the park is this curious bench.
Convenient for sitting or standing up and having a snack and some coffee, plus it doubles as public art with some influences from ancient Mexican cultures:

Very beautiful night pictures. I like a lot the last one, it looks to me like a family... Smile
I think you are right!
I am not enamoured with the first (maybe the colours look a bit odd. Floodlights?)
The second much more realistic. The third reminds me of some fountain shots from 3? years ago with floodlit colours, and the fourth, yes pa and ma in hats, and the kids without.
It is getting too cold to go out here at night, so well done to you for doing it.
I watched Joanna Lumley on TV last night, going to see the Northern lights, in the arctic. -35C. Brrr.
I felt cold watching so live , no chance. Big Grin
I like all of these, they're all very strong. I might ease off the greens a bit in the first one, but the colour combination works nicely.

It's great to see new photos from you...
Nice! Were there any noise issues that needed sorting? It seems well under control, which is why I'm asking.
Noise wasn't a problem at all.
The first one is troublesome color-wise as NT73 mentioned. It was very dark there and the exposure was very long--didn't do it justice in post. I keep forgetting to try some de-saturation.
The bench in front of the Federal building really drew me in. It's a beautiful contrast of blue and orange highlights. The right side window is a little distracting. If the right side were cropped at the inside veritcal window pane ( or whatever that pole thing is), then that window pane would be the same size as the center pane behind the pillars. It would add a nice touch of symmetry since none of the panes are the same size. It would eliminate the bright white light and emphasize the blue coming from the left and from above. It would shift the pillars a little to the right and lead me into the picture, following the lighter tiles between the pillars.

Keep looking outside the box. Big Grin
