Full Version: Aloft in an air balloon

I was very blessed by this balloon trip but have to say that it tests one's technique, given the amount of sky that is constantly in and out of shot.
I found I had to "pre-compose" by anticipation much of the time...more of facilitating the capture as much as anything else.
Light was low and worsened progressively, so it was a case of educated guesswork with metering and balancing ISO with everything else.
Most "straight" shots would have had more zing if there was some direct sunshine, though I believe 10 or so of the 60 I took are usable in some form or another.
All these were with the 70-200 at ISOs from 200 to 800; the 350D doesn't do a bad job really. These are my faves.
