Hi, Pavel! Very nice look in the sky and reflection in the water in this image. It would have helped any critique to know your intention in how you presented this photo. Since the sun has not set or has already risen, I would expect that there to be much more light in the dark areas of the photo. Perhaps you wished to portray an almost silhoutte effect. But that doesn't quite come off here, since there is just a hint of detail in the foreground. I can't make any technical suggestions. Perhaps the experts will have some other comments.. Regards.....Dennis

This is my kind of picture. It speaks to my soul. It is so beautiful in it's entirety. The sky is so amazing that I might give it a little more prominence by cropping some straight off the bottom. This would move the horizon down from the center.

Dennis - Actually, the land was a lod darker and I brightened it up. It is because the sky at sunset is so bright, that the land in comparison is dark. The sensor has trouble fitting all that in. My intent was to allow some detail with the patches showing clearer than other parts. This reflects reality quite well, actually and that is a big part of what attracted me to this photo. This treatment creates drama. Ansel Adams used this technique and I am just borrowing from a master.
Pippin - I rarely like the horizon in the center, although I agree that the foreground gives an impression that not much is happening there. To my eyes however, the green patch conterbalances gently the black... Well let me stop right here. I looked again and it does work better with some of the grass chopped off. Thanks Pippin. Pavel
