went over the mountains toward Leavenworth in eastern Washington today, to see if there was any fall color left. i think the peak was a couple of weeks ago - the reds are pretty much all gone now - but there was still a lot of gold left in them thar hills... Wink shot with the 5D and 24-135 at a variety of settings, the last was with the 17-35 @ 17mm...

gorgeous. How do you get such sharpness and color?
I guess this is where HDR comes to the fore. Beautiful shots.
I love them all, especially the top one. Pavel

mostly good lenses... image clarity is all about the glass. Wink

the last one was done using HDR processing in Photomatix, but the first two were not. some folks don't like HDR, but the problem comes in when people overdo the effect, and wind up with images that look like screen-shots from a bad video game. properly done, it results in very natural-looking images. i'm no expert, by any means, but i do know not to "overcook" the images in PP! the biggest problem with HDR is that it sometimes results in degradation of image clarity, especially if your DOF changes from one exposure to the next as a result of the AEB settings on your camera.
