Reading Keith's post reminded me that I got a new bass this week. I traded my Status Graphite S2 Classic 5 for another 5-string, as I need something more woody.
This is an AC Harlot "S" single-cutaway, handmade by the extremely talented Alan Cringean in Scotland. The woods are blackheart sassafras, hondo mahogany and macassar ebony; it has a filter-based 18V preamp made by John East. It sounds rather nice.
I did have my heart set on a Sadowsky but when I heard one of these that was it.
Here's a quick pic...and yes, I've not left it out in the garden!
