A huge thank you to all who participated in August’s Photo Challenge, entitled “From A Distance”. Our challenge was sponsored by Rocky Nook Books and Petra Vogt, who provided us with some awesome books prizes. Once again there was a strong field, and the judges had a hard time picking between the entries. Ultimately, these ones were hand picked as winners:
- Matthew – with his submission, “Seagulls in sky”.
The theme talks about watching from a distance, which the seagull is certainly doing (watching the other gull and everything else from the sky), but we as the viewer are also seeing the seagull from a distance. It’s a nice exposure, with the the seagull in sharp focus against an interesting sky. The details of the seagull (wings, feet, shadow on the belly) are excellent.Matthew picks up a Rocky Nook book entitled “Create Your Own Photo Book: Design a Stunning Portfolio, Make a Bookstore-Quality Book” by Petra Vogt, worth $39.95 USD. Congratulations Matthew!
- Louie Nepomuceno was also selected at random to receive a prize for Liking our page on Facebook. He also picks up a Rocky Nook book for his efforts.
Honourable mentions also go to:
- smarti77’s Colourful bird in tree for a wonderfully colourful and sharp image that missed on the theme.
- NT73’s Infinity for a nice picture of clouds in the sky.
